They are great on pumps. You can run from a trickle to full speed with a dial or keypad. Pretty snappy.

If you run them really slow you can run into overheating issues, because the fan inside the motor isn't moving enough air. Not going to be a problem in your application. It's only an issue if you have a 75hp pump on a VFD and you dial it down to pump a couple hundred gallons to run a little handline or something.
