| I was in the same situation as you a few months ago. I wanted a 3700 24 row, but knew I needed something to shut off on all my point rows and irregular shaped field. I found a plain jane 3700 and opted to go the Ag leader electric drive route. With everything new, including In Command monitor, seed tubes and sensors and installation it's right at $40k. I priced sure stops, which are just clutches, but opted to eliminate the need to service chains and bearings and also have the capability for variable rate planting. It seems like the guys that maintain the air clutches get along with them. I went the electric drive route because my planter had nothing. I didn't even consider buying new air clutches. I would have a hard time accurately turning switches on and off with my fields. Hope this helps. | |
