Market share.
It may or may not be a superior machine, but a lot of resale price is market share, and manufacturer support.
Why is a Blue tractor and a Red one (at least in 4 wheel drives) $20,000 different for an apples to apples comparison? The red paint is more prevalent and will demand a higher resale value.
If you plan on keeping it forever, or at least a long time, it may be a good deal. However, you will be crucified if you try to sell it.
Finding a mechanic may be much more troublesome as it gets older as well.
Cheaper up front does not always mean cheaper in the long run. | |
