West Central IL | You're not going to like it if you're currently in a Deere. Went from a 2015 Versatile 400 that had a 4 years lease, now we leased a 2018 Deere 9420R. I hated that versatile on the grain cart. You had to make every move right on the gear shift plus hit the unlock button to move or change directions. Not fun filling a truck when you forget to push the button when going from forward to reverse. The hydraulics are funny, took a while to figure out how to set them on the timer. We put about 1600 hours on it. It was new when we got it. Put a starter on it, 2 alternators, had a wire harness problem that would lose power to the console. The A/C drained down your back. The biggest plus was the big cab, engine and transmission minus the gear selector. Forgot, also had to put a new I joint in for the PTO interview the first 500 hours as it came apart.
Now if Versatile was the first 4x4 you were getting, or was coming from an old John Deere such as a 50 or 60 series I'd say you'd like the Versatile, but coming from a 9300 I think in the long run you'll be expecting it to do more. |
