Well a teaching moment.
Turn the squelch down until you hear with in about 10 miles or so. First get use to radio. Take it to a tune shop.

When you see a accident example
You call out I44 east bound mile marker 201.
That tell me on east bound mile marker 201 there’s issues. I would have google maps running to verify.

Any where on the planet someone can look at a map and see that location.

Even mile makers run East and west. Odd run north and south on interstates.
East bound 201 tells me your 201 miles from the previous state line.


That one statement can save lives especially in white out.

Just taking to elevator or bin it’s no big deal.
But otr and no radio that’s foolish at the least.

My thoughts
Could be wrong

Radio is a amazing capability.
Another tool in the box.
