Distance to the fields was around 40 miles one way. And yes, it was more than one bin. I can't remember the bin size but probably 50,000. 6 bins. and we also hauled with more than 1 truck most of the time.
This was for hire, back around 1990 give or take a few years.
I only remember the weight because when it snowed I sent that truck to the elevator to haul. The driver was complaining that with his top speed of 57 mph he didn't get as much done as the other trucks. With his weight if he hauled 5 and the others hauled 6 he still hauled more bushel.
You probably don't run your trucks 24 hours a day without stopping either. This truck only stopped for unloading and loading. We kept fuel next to the auger to fill it.
It is actually not that hard to run a lot of miles hauling grain. I have been over 700 several times hauling from my North farm to Bunge. You just have to stay with it and have things go right.
