Subject: RE: ISOBUS - CANBUS (explanation for dummy’s)

So would it be correct to think of a Canbus system as an AC system instead of a DC system? What I mean is similar to how a 240 volt circuit is the addition of two out of phase 120 volt circuits that add up to a 240 volt potential difference?

Is it correct to think of the different versions of Isobus kind of like software upgrades? The connections and basic physical design is still the same but the higher versions added in additional functions?

Thanks for the explanation of the terminators, although I still don’t fully understand how they can get rid of the old signals without getting rid of the new ones.

Can it be thought of as the terminator (resistor) reduces all of the signals, including the new signals, but the new signals are still strong enough to get to the other end and be detected while the old signals are already weak and are rendered undetectable after being further weakened by the terminator?
