Put a HD receiver hitch (female) in a new heavy duty cross beam then you can remove and reinstall winch very easily. Requires making a receiver hitch (male) style mount for the winch. Can easily remove winch to store out of "sight" and the weather when not in use.

This is what I'd recommend. You can get receiver hitch winch mounts pretty easily, I think even HF has them.

I even know one guy, who put a crossmember in the area that would be right behind your spare tire, with a receiver hitch, and a second receiver hitch on the front of the deck. His line of thinking is that he could mount the winch either high, or low, depending on the needs at the time. What he wound up doing after lifting the winch up/down from the crossmember, was to leave the hitch on the front of the trailer deck, and put a pulley on the crossmember, so that he only had to lift the winch to the height of the deck, and all he had to lift up high, was the hitch tail, with the pulley and cable. If I remember right, he braced up the mount on the deck, because it now had to pull 'down' as much as 'forward'.
