This is a great idea, no reason to leave it setting out all the time but it sure looks heavy.

I don't see anything in the front of that trailer that I'd want to mount a winch to, definitely put a heavy wall square tube across that span. A winch centered on a span that wide (6'-8'?) needs a pretty solid mount.

I'd also mount it as low as possible that will le the cable still clear the front of the tilt. As you winch on the deck you don't want that winch pulling from up high, if you try to pull a car on you'd be into the bumper/front end when the tilt drops down.
