SW Wisconsin | That picture was actually near the end. There's a drain hole near the top, the recipe we used started out as about 3 quarts and fluffed up to about 7. We just made sure the ice was at least as deep as the mixture, and added ice several times. We used about half of a 20 lb bag of ice, and never spilled anything. It took about 45 minutes of cranking, and might have been faster if we'd chilled the mixture beforehand rather than just pulling the milk and cream out of the refrigerator. | |
