Southern Saskatchewan | Here we are in the downward swing of harvest and now have to battle rain and frost!! This has been the best crop we have ever seen.Dad remembers combining 65 bu/ac durum but last night we hit the record. I had a 40 acre chem fallow field that yielded 72.5 bu/ac. The pea stubble durum has been 56 bu/ac this year. We don't pour the N like crazy -usually 80 lbs of 34-17.This year we just got lucky with the growing conditions. Usually norms are 30 for our durum.What the weather gods have gave us they may take it with the F word.Fingers are crossed!! South Sask guys how are things going? | |
