The trend has to start somewhere.

Maybe it is just starting with a few doctors trying to get the word out. The doctor in the video is showing research that has been written up but not yet passed peer review or published. So it is research hot off the press.

Someone has to lead.

As far as manufacturers pushing it, as I understand it China manufacturers most if not all of it now because it is an off patent drug. Means any pharmaceutical company can make it. Not a lot of profit potential to promote. Kind of like changing diet to reverse diabetes. What drug company is going to go out of their way to do that? No money in it. Not much in generic drugs (compared to patent drugs or vaccines).
