Human grade Ivormectin is available and has been regularly prescribed for other conditions. There should be no need to take the animal grade drug.

In poor countries or ones without widespread healthcare system sometimes the animal grade is used simply because of the lack of availability of the human graded drug or the doctors to prescribe it.

If we can ramp up millions of doses of vaccine in short order, would it seriously be an issue to ramp up the production of an already available generic drug?

If people take the animal form, it will simply be because the medical side of things failed to do their job and make the human version available in supply that is needed.
