I farm some real low OM sand... like 1-2% would be high. The most successful farmers in the area work the hell out of the ground every year... go figure. With irrigation and lots of N they are raising good crops. I've finally realized you can't really change the ground and are just doing what they do... and it is working. Just farm it.
