NW NC | My winter feeding/chore tractor is a 2015 6130R and has the block heater plug by the steps. I asked our JD parts manager the cost of the plug. $366! And that’s just the pigtail. Where can I find one more reasonably priced?
I’ve googled the part number and nothing other than $366 has came up for me.

Ne Indiana | I have bought 2 new 6110M. Both tractors came with that block heater plug in a sealed plastic bag with the owner’s manual. They should have gave you one when the tractor was delivered |

Northwest Mo | I bought a regular JD heater pigtail. If GSI is needed or necessary , put one in your shop outlet and then it can be used by anything plugged in to it. Way cheaper! |

Thanks. We have several 20 degree nights and some teens or lower, so would like to have it available. I know that’s not “cold” in NAT terms, but wouldn’t hurt to have one. |

South west of Winnipeg MB | Those aren't like the trucks as in 2012 GMC that has to have the right cord or the motor shuts down. I have not had it happen to me but did to my BIL and a friend. |

Central ND | Thats crazy money! You can heat a well insulated single stall garage to 35 or 40F to store the tractor in for that money if you don't open the door too much.
My 6400 had one of those fancy cords and GFCI boxes with the little light to tie a hydraulic heater and engine heater together for some crazy money.The fancy breaker box failed on the cord, I cut the hydraulic heater cord off and splice just into the block heater/ soldered and heat shrinked...Put GFCI on the outlet. I switched to the more expensive low visc hyd oil in the tractor so it is limber at -30F. I was glad to get away from the hydraulic heater as that thing and its cord lay in the dirt and oily hay filled mess under the cab.I AM VERY SURE that cord being oily and the heater under the cab is EXACTLY so many of those 6400 burned up/ fires/ and took the cold storage shops and the tractors to ashes . |

EC IL | We went through the same thing with our 6130R. We bought one that the DOT had used for a summer to mow roadsides and it was only 6 months old. I figured the cord went on the dealers parts shelf and after telling them that the tractor had the plug and the specs. on the tractor showed the block heater that we needed the cord, they provided us with one. Pretty sure there is nothing special about it, probably could cut the wire on the tractor and put a heavy duty plug on there somewhere. |
