Subject: RE: 2210 Level Lift Field Cultivator

WCIL
We had a C-shank 44' 980 for 10 years with that wing set up and never had an issue with wing depth. Our soils vary from sand to hard clay to always wet gumbo that is mellow on top and hard underneath. I sure would have thought we would have had the same issues if the wheels were not adequate for the wings. Does it have the jumper hose on the main lift circuit that bleeds the wing wheels off after lowering into the ground? If it does it is supposed to be on an SCV in float position. I am not familiar with the 2210 level lift so maybe it is not plumbed that way like the 980's. Possibly a master/slave cylinder issue? From your description it sounds like a wheel sinking in issue so maybe I'm on the wrong track but wanted to throw some ideas out. I know our wing wheels were towards the outer edge of the inner wings, so maybe placed differently than yours. Has to be frustrating but that is the only thing I can think of.
As far as the floating hitch, we wore our 980 out and traded it for a C-shank 2210 floating hitch. I have not experienced any diving in wet conditions here. I like the extra wheels that carry it and think they actually prevent the issue. We have a 50' and each section has a walking tandem and a wheel out front. About like pulling a wagon. We have accudepth that is hated on AgTalk but we've had great luck with it so far. Each tandem can be adjusted in the cab. After almost 10 seasons, we've never had to readjust any of them. Good luck.
