It's sandy land. It won't produce well for a few years until you get OM built up. Our home farm is like that, and Dad farmed it semi-organically. We were used to 5bu/ac flax, and 10bu/ac barley. Now we have 65bu/ac barley, 17bu/ac flax, and 35 - 40bu/ac canola. Just need patience, and CHOP THE STRAW. Don't let the neighbourhood cattle farmer talk you into letting him bale it ;)
