Central ND
What's going on with it?Once it was Bureau of reclamation lands and I believe it is now in conjunction with ND game and fish.. Basically nothing going on as far as the water project..There are some cattle grazing and haying going on within the lands for wildlife /grassland/management. We have a good working relationship with the land/ bureau/ and ND game and fish even though many many of our ancestors surrendered that land for something that never did or will never materialise. It was intended for irrigation, recreation and municipal use.
There are 35??? Thousand acres of attached wildlife /recreation lands to the canals managed by Lonetree wildlife management.
The concrete spill way 20 ?miles north north east of McClusky is /was/Grandads pasture land that my mother and her siblings used to herd cattle on as children. The spillway chute drops down many many feet into what was to become the lonetree reservoir.
