on the tile question brome grass send roots down deep and often have the tile all plugged. If it was only in CRP for 10 years it is a lot of times alright but were now getting into that ground that has been in it for 15 to 20 years. Here in central iowa if it has been in CRP that long you can about figure all tile is plugged beyond repair.
