ECIL | Tried that this year on 160 acre farm with kind of the same thinking. The entire farm had 100 lbs actual N in form of nh3 put on last fall with n serve.
Another 90 lbs actual n applied this spring
40 acres urea with stabilizer (agrotain?) applied 1 day before planting and incorporated
60 acres esn applied 1 day before planting and incorporated
60 acres nh3 sidressed no n serve as soon as we werent covering corn side dressing
Nh3 sidedress was 20 bushel better and the N was way cheaper
No esn for me.
