Idaho | It wasn't so much that the real steep ground was taken out of production it just isn't feasible to make a leveling system like what a 1470 has work on newer combines. The new combines weigh far more and have grain tanks more than 2x what a 1470 has along with a header twice as big. Having a leveling system that runs singles with a parallel linkage leveling system isn't practical. The current Hillco's can cut 95% of the steep hills. The guys that are left with that 5% of the steepest ground around keep 1470's or 9600's with Rahco or John Rea levelers around. | |
