Did agco take as good of care of there lease tractors as the ones people bought outright, anyone know the serial numbers affected with oil consumption??? The one I'm, looking at is a 2015 lease return from agcofinance and trying to find the previous owner, they cant give that info out and the dealer that sold it wont talk to me about it at all because the have no ownership in the tractor. Any ideas on finding the previous owner? Thanks
It wasn't a serial number range really, there was a range that could have been affected, but not every one was affected. There was a certain range of engines that got replaced no matter what, but those were all done or us dealers took a chewing.
I only had one engine in an S68 that was replaced, that didn't use a drop of oil, but was in that range that it didn't matter. I have heard from zero of my customer about oil consumption issues or complaints, so apparently, all mine are fine.
If you end up with a tractor that uses more oil than what you think is acceptable, go to a dealer, there is a form you fill out and track the oil and fuel usage, and then they determine what will happen. It's not really cut and dried.
