Cows looking good. What are you swath grazing
5 years ago I fenced off 12 acres that I feed cows on all winter and keep moving bale feeders. I cultivated end of June after it finally thawed out and planted oats with whatever p and k I had left, no nitrogen. Didn't do any in crop weed spray It did quite well I was suprised and not bad for weeds at all. I divided it into 3 acre or so pieces. Hoping to get a day an acre out of it with 140 bred cows/ bred heifers Planted corn on the same piece last year. Last year had about 115 head on corn and did about 21 days, wasn't a great year for corn last year, but it was probably 4-5 times the expense of what I have into the oats | |
