northeastern Ohio | I traded my R66 for a S96 with 200 hours this week. I ran a few beans with it on Friday and then switched to corn on Saturday. Rained out today.
Wow this thing has way more capacity than the R66!!!!! I'm running a 6 row head in 200 bushel corn at 6 mph which is about 1 mph faster than the R66. Much quieter cab! Excellent visibility. I like the one push button for the ladder and the hopper.
Now to the annoyances:
The steering column seems to move forward slowly as I go across the field. I find myself resetting it after every pass. Anyone else notice this on their Super9 series?
There is a bolt rolling around in the roof. If this cab wasn't so quiet, I would probably never notice it. It's in the front right corner. Not sure how to access it. Any tips to remove the roof to find this bolt? Maybe warranty would cover this?
Straw spreader slow speed alarm goes off every time I start the separator. The monitor shows 0 rpm but the spinners are spinning at full speed. After a minute of running, the alarm cancels and it shows 400 rpm. Sometimes I also get a feederhouse slow speed alarm too, but not always.
I did not get a Ag Leader monitor with this combine. It has the Agco yield monitor. I have not read the book yet, but it doesn't look like it makes a yield map. It shows the yield and moisture on the go, and it shows a coverage map. It has a screen that is supposed to show average yield, but it always reads zero. Does this Agco yield monitor have any redeeming qualities or should I just break down and get another Ag Leader? I have an Integra that I only use for planting that I could stick in for harvest.
