CENTRAL ILLINIOS | "because it has a built in hyd knife angle adjustment ( our combine is not new enough for that option)"
After one season with a deere 635FD I would say that is an important consideration right there. Our combine does not have the hydraulic fore/aft feederhouse adjustment and I think a lot of the reason draper owners say they can run earlier in the morning and run later in the evening is because they can tilt the head /cutterbar back when its damp and keep going. With the Macdon you have that built in to the head. Ours was a used head this year and we had virtually no trouble with it. We were planning on trading up to a newer combine but ran out of time and used the old one another year. My suggestion is if you don't have the hyd fore/aft feederhouse, try the Macdon. If you do have fore/aft you can run either one. | |
