Subject: RE: Deere Vs. Macdon Flex Draper

We tried both, a 640fd and macdon 75fd, we bought the macdon because it cut better because of the knife style and you can run the reel right close to the knife for those short beans, because it has a built in hyd knife angle adjustment ( our combine is not new enough for that option) we adjust it way more often than I ever thought we would. Lastly because the 45ft macdon is almost 2000 ibs lighter than the 45ft JD. The thought of having to carry the JD with an double fan air reel system just seemed so heavy. But the flex knife of the Deere does follow contours better, so if you really need that, make it a priority.
