FWIW the hydraulics on the MT738, MT400, MT430 are silly because they come from Europe. The armrest on those tractors comes from Fendt and that's another one of those characteristics that the Germans are pushing AGCO to implement in their tractors that are not friendly to the North American farmer. It took them 20 years to start shipping wheeled Fendt tractors that accomodated North American row crop spacing to the US and whaddya know market share started increasing! Nevermind US dealers asked for this in 2000 and they wouldn't make the move. Fendt/AGCO would again go further in appealing to American farmers if their hydraulics acted like every other ElectroHydraulic setup that's been present in our domestic OEMs since they were implemented 20-25 years ago; Forward detent and push down puts you into float, forward or reverse detent is constant flow or timed flow depending on how the timer's configured, and hydraulic valve can be feathered if you move the switch slowly from center in either direction. If you're pulling an implement and you push the lever to lower it, the hydraulics should automatically disengage when it senses the pressure change that comes with the limit of stroke being reached on the implement cylinders. Stay tuned you'll probably have the tractor you want in 2040 from AGCO! |
