Ogallala,NE | I would question whether there is something wrong with your 585, but I have no experience with a chopping head. With a non chopping head, a 585 is easily capable of 5000 bph.
After speeding up the clean grain on a 760, it would do 7000+ sustained all day long. I believe I read the clean grain on the 8000 is rated for 8000bph.
If your 585 is healthy and you're power limited to 3400, I doubt an 8900 would have enough ponies to do 7000 in the same field.
