I’ve wondered how they mount the blades. Does the hub lock into a preferred blade mounting position, or does it freewheel around by gravity? Would need to rig each blade in a different orientation.


I don't think the hub freewheels, you can see where the blades bolt to the hub. I think all three blade are turned the same and they all rotate together depending on the wind speed or if they want them to stop. The other wind generators in our area have been stopped part of the time when the wind is blowing. I don't think there is as big a demand for electricity now because it has been warm and air conditioner don't have to run as much, heat doesn't demand much electricity, and farmers are done with irrigation.
