It's humorous because the OP is bitching about half a percent. I don't know if the checkoff helps or if it doesn't. But I do know that I have more valuable things to do with my time than worry about half a percent. It's part of life, it's been set up by people way more important than me. It's a fee associated with raising beans. Do you all raise hell when you go pay the registration on your trucks each year? That's a fee associated with raising beans that has been put in place by people more important than you too. How is it any different? Just because you don't see it on your settlement sheet?
The OP said he was in a "cheap, grumpy mood this fall". My point was that you'd think an extra dollar a bushel above what he thought he was going to get might help cure that. | |
