Central Ohio | I had a 103 for several years. Did a decent job but need to be careful with rpms or you’ll have butt damage. Head is very similar to a corn head. The worst problem with a 103 you need a dedicated tractor. You will not want to hook and unhook very often.
I switched to a cp100 10 + years ago. Really does a great job with little damage. Price tag is scary but I think worth it. Very few used ones up for sale.
You will need a plan for sorting. We started with flatbed dump wagons and sorted at the back. Used an old hay elevator to get rid of trash and threw the good corn in a bin. Worked ok.
We’ve refined things a lot since then. | |
