Near Intersection of I-35 & I-90 Southern Mn. | The proximity switch would affect if and when the auger in the moisture sensor assembly would run. It is necessary that it works properly for accurate moisture reporting but would not cause a "lock up" of the Advantage. I don't believe this is your problem.
When I used the older Ag Leader displays I did find that having the GPS messages set incorrectly can overwhelm the system and cause it to be sluggish or lockup. The GPS settings should be 4800 BAUD 8, N, 1 with GGA and VTG messages ON and all others OFF. Theses settings can be changed. The method to change them is dependent on the GPS being used.
This may not be your problem but is a possibility.
