Southern Oregon | Thank you for posting. So many good points and very eloquently written. I can only imagine the pain of losing 80% of a herd in one event and my heart goes out to that family and their cattle. The fires out here in the west have been crazy and policy needs to change.
Within the span of a few days fire was threatening my cousin and aunt's ranches in California, a friend's ranch near Ashland Oregon, our slaughterhouse near Springfield Oregon, a family friends house in Lincoln City Oregon, a favorite park of mine mostly burned at Chiloquin Oregon, and a nice ranching community near Paisley Oregon was evacuated. Six different fires threatening things important to me and the smallest one is over 14,000 acres. It sure feels like the whole west is burning down. | |
