Subject: Update

Illinois
It's polio. Caused by a thiamine deficiency. It's been about 36 hours since I gave the first shot of it and she has steadily improved. We have another one that is starting to act a little off so we treated her tonight. Tomorrow morning my dad is going to get some balancer to feed the whole group.

I can understand the need for the balancer in certain diets but these cattle get hay, grass and a few pounds of corn. Like less than 1% of their body weight in grain. We kept them as replacements and aren't feeding them hard. Corn is cheaper than hay, that's why I feed some. Something odd has happened and we don't know what. We're starting to do some more digging. Giving multiple shots every day is going to get old quick especially as they improve and fight the chute.
