SE Michigan | You are correct....... I did a study in one of my automotive engineering class on vehicle aerodynamics. I don't recall the numbers, but if I recall the drag from the underside of the vehicle contributed about 25-30%. I had that class in 1987....... Not saying it "could" happen on a truck, but manufactures struggle with reducing the drag on the underside but not making it "too slick" or you will have a wing effect, that will actually lift the car of the ground at high speed. | |
