NW Central Ohio | I use those all the time....They actually are a bit "thin"...and will wear the bolt heads out. I also hardface the back side of the leading edge of them to make them last longer. You definitely have to weld the bolts in when you switch them around...and it probably wouldn't hurt to use a hardfacing wire in a mig welder to do it.
...The best thing about those points...is they throw an equal amount of dirt both ways....You will not, I repeat, will not find a hump coming off of one side or the other of your disc chisel. It lays the dirt out much more level than curved shanks do. | |
