northeast ohio | No the controller is absolutely necessary. When buying one be sure it’s not one of the very first ones without the T2 terrain compensation. They rarely show up anymore but once in a while you see a very old one trying to sneak through places like eBay without being identified as such.
You and I both have a want add in classifieds looking for a T2. Ours need is just to add to a spare motor so not as pressing as yours. If I come across an extra one I will reach out through your listing.
