Kettle Moraine, WI | I have hired or rented a Tebbe spreader, Knight Slinger, Meyer Crop Max, Chandler litter spreader, and Meyer V-spreader.
The Tebbe did the best spread pattern.
The Knight Slinger did a good nice pattern of correctly overlapped. Slow unload speed relative. Accidental stone is problematic.
Meyer Crop Max was biggest, unloaded near fastest with reasonably good spread pattern (windrow in middle a little pronounced), with okay rate control via chain speed controller
Chandler litter spreader made great pattern, but narrow window moisture range it optimized. Hydraulic spinners were mechanical problem. Could also spread lime.
Meyer v twin spreader (name). Windrow spread the manure with little spit out to the sides. Slow unload, accidental stone is problematic.
Tebbe is very nice, versatile, and not cheap. I understand it can have a rate controller and scales to automatically control a dialed in rate if that is desirable. Crop Max challenges with containing wet manure. Those would be my choice for tonnage you mention with versatility.
With that all said, for those tonnages why not hire it spread with the best spreader if available. One guy here has a 20 ton Tebbe and charge $140 an hour plus fuel with operator and 32 mph tractor. Small fields or frequent hauls may dictate owning. Close hauls it cost me around $3.50 per ton on 3 ton rates. Just a thought.
