Had a john deere #27 flail chopper for 20 plus yrs. It did an excellent job of grinding up and breaking down stalks. 3 yrs ago traded it for a like new john deere hx15 batwing. The batwing wont chew up the stalk like the flail chopper. But batwing I use on crp ground. A few shallow ditches. And topping weeds in pastures.
