West of Mpls MN about 50 miles on Hwy 12 | My little sister is head of child protection in a county that borders the Twin Cities. She started her career as a county child protection social worker following Sheriffs Deputies (behind bullet proof shields) into drug bust houses in a effort save children from their "parents".The stories she has to tell are truly incredible. She and and her co-workers used to get clothes from Goodwill for the drug raids, and throw the clothes away after the raids because the clothes smelled so bad from being inside the houses for even a short time. Real life is stranger than fiction...social money is paying the rent, and utilities on these houses.
Do you honestly believe mentally ill people, drug addicts, and third generation people with a entitled attitude listen to social workers, and will accept the "help" you feel they need by their own free will? Trust me they don't.The only help they want is more free gov't money to do whatever they want with...drug treatment, psychiatric treatment, and job training is not what they feel is needed...or want.
The money that is being spent on county social workers, and social "help" programs right now in the US trying to help these groups of people is mind boggling. Maybe more will be better, but I have my doubts. The US should have never defunded state mental hospitals IMO.
Social workers are considered to be "the man", and are to be feared, and fought by these groups of people...same as law enforcement personal in the US. If you don't believe me, ask my front line, social worker little sister.
