leeave96 - 8/16/2020 07:43 With the Deere X9 and Fendt Ideal combines out there, what does Gleaner (or CaseIH) have to offer that is competitive? Just curious. Thanks!
The red guys would have a yellow one if they were interested in the capacity of a twin rotor but a single rotor CVT drive with very few moving parts and low maintenance usually has the best all round return. How much of the increase in production will Deere value into a price...? Will there be any chance to increase net profit with an x9 or will it just amount to a larger equipment payment to John Deere? The logistics of using a 50 foot head only work in so many regions..

If you look to the west I'm guessing the 50ft header is going to work just fine in the same areas that also use 70ft to 100ft air drills.  We are getting along just fine with 45ft headers.  An extra 5ft isn't going to be a big deal especially since it flexes.

Im a believer in large equipment. Have been running 45s on our class 9s for years. But my comment about true depreciation cost and some large equipment only working in so many regions was meant in regard to getting rid of the used ones. Sure its all great when a few guys go buy 50 foot heads and 80 foot drills but how much will it cost to trade a couple years down the road if market capacity is quickly reached for the second and third owners. Thats part of the price structure that the accountants and marketing departments at these large manufacturers have to figure out when selling some this equipment.
