if they were going to make such a thing for M18, i envision taking the split shaft trimmer power head and making an attachment for it that basically would be the current pole saw cutting unit but without a shaft so that it attaches close to but not right against where you hold it. For the Hatchet it looks to me that they wanted it to be usable one-handed thus the bar is so short.
In M12 the tools that are Fuel are good and several tools have a Fuel and non Fuel version.
