Were the ball bearings installed through the threaded hole in the first pic? if you have any of the original balls, you could match the size and put it back together easy enough.

otherwise, machine the races out flat and put a bushing in there, it shouldn't break a pin often enough to wear out a bushing. Hard place for a ball bearing to live with shock load but no rotation.
