Kingston,Mi | A truck gardener near Bay City Mi. gutted a small grain head, attached some safety rails and placed it on a John Deere 4400. He had several people hand pick the ears and placed ears of corn in baskets on the floor of the gutted head. He drove it into his sweet corn patch until he had what was needed for a days sales and stopped the machine, if he needed more the fired up his harvester and picked some. Of course it was covered in FARM SHOW, likely in the mid 90's. I did some design work on a pesticide and fertilizer storage building he built and the other technician on that job told me of the "picker". | |
