East Central SD | New to me 608 corn head. One row has stripped threads in the top of the gearbox for the dipstick, which I knew when I purchased it. My two thoughts are weld the aluminum back up, drill, and tap. Other thought is a helicoil, but I haven't checked to see if I can get one with the same threads as the dipstick. I'm hoping I can cram the box full of rags so I don't have to disassemble any further, then thoroughly flush the box before reassembly. Thoughts?
