We got a .5 where I live, 13 miles nw of Adair. Are your Thistle Caterpillar very thick, when I was scouting down in your area last week, I didn't find any in my sweep net, just saw a lot of the butterflies. This would be the 3rd generation on them, which all the literature says they only have 2 generations.
I think this is from Thistle caterpillar...
