When a person is arguing a weak position, they tend to rely on the “talking points” they heard on the “news” they listen to.
I hear my 95 year old mother saying them and I know she heard them on the radio station she keeps playing in the kitchen. They are so glaringly obvious to me because they’re not something she would ever say on her own.
Wife and I had a great day at Menard's and Sam's today
