Saskatchewan, big whitetail country!!!
I don't think you can do this. Beleive me it would work with canola anyway. Two years ago I had a wet un-seedable spring. I chem fallowed this land with roundup, and had about a 1 plant per 2 sq ft. "crop" of volunteer ru canola. I had never seeded it there before, and had not seeded it on my farm scince 1998. The field is not near a road, is mostly surrounded by bush, and the neighbor AND I only were seeding liberty link canolas. Where this canola all came from is beyond me, unless there is always a bit in with the liberty canola. The next year I had another wet year, wetter than the previous year even, and I let this canola make a "crop" The plant stand was excellent, the fertility and aeration of the soil was not. It yielded around 13-15.

Now had monsanto come and had a look, I am positive I would have been screwed, even though it was not their seed, and I couldn't get on the land until late July anyway, and by this time it was to swath. LOL. It was dso wet, and I had no choice.
