deep SW On. | Every time I see a farm sold to an 'investor' I think how much better that would be to have been purchased by the guy farming it or another farmer. Our area had a Manitoba investor who bought a pile of ground just before the price of land took its big run, the guys that were farming his land would brag "i'll get our investor to buy it' if a farm came up for sale. He passed away a few yrs. ago and most of the land got sold and the guys farming it got 0 acres of it to farm now.....
When land ownership passes to 'off farm/investor owners' renting or sharecropping it sounds good but if u don't own a land base u will always be a peasent farmer at the whim of a LL(s).... | |
