Iowa | Maybe the reporter quoted him wrong, maybe he meant something else, but Mr Streit is widely known as an EXCELLENT, forward-thinking agronomist. His clients that spray foliar fert--a blend of 17 ingredients he has spent many years developing with scientists all over the world--, dextrose, a branching hormone, and fungicides AND treat early for aphids are raising beans anywhere from 15 -30 bu better than their counties average (and spending about $30/A "extra" to get it--so the ROI is fabulous).
He was, and maybe still is, one of only 18 humans on the planet on the world-wide soybean rust task force.
He has top-notch producers wanting his help and on a waiting list.
He is not a "money" guy. Enough comes his way to make a living, but his PASSION is to HELP growers, not to line his pockets.
The world's top agronomists that are from foreign countries work with him (and many actually stay at his home when they are in the US). He goes to Brazil and Argentina several times a year to consult and learn--his quest for knowledge is unending.
He either chairs or has chaired many of the United State's most influential professional agronomy organizations.
He is most at home in his client's fields or kitchens having a lemonade--not obtaining "glory" or "press".
A credibility problem is not one of his traits.....
